Well, good morning. I can’t believe we’re at Day 22 of this 31 Day series on Braving the Broken. I hope that these words have connected with you. I so remember in the weeks after Dan’s death searching for someone who could unpack all of the emotions and issues I was dealing with. I didn’t necessarily want them to fix it; I wanted them to get it.
And I did want encouragement. I wanted to know that God would take of our little family and that, as raw as our pain was, we had hope this side of heaven — to see joy again and to have good days again.
I haven’t walked in your shoes. But I hope that in these 22 days so far, you’ve found someone that gets going through hard in life. And that you have found hope — not just in these words but in God’s Word.
I have more that I want to share with you but this morning, I thought I’d step back and make a list of some of the *rules* we chose to apply in our season of hard. Feel free to Pin and share to your heart’s content.
As you read through these, I’d love to know — which of these has been important to you? What would you add to this list?

I love this Lisa. Thank you for having me remember all the times, where God has been faithful to me in difficult days.
*One day at a time, one moment at a time.
*This too shall pass.
*When I can’t see how good could come, I can trust God’s character.
*When you have done everything you can do, and things seem hopeless, God can still move mountains, when we get on our knees and put that situation in His mountain-moving hands.
*Believe God.
*Trust God.
*On a really busy day, 5 minutes laying on the bed, with praise music playing can totally make a difference.
*On days when the waves are coming fast, remember to look up, and focus on the Creator, instead of the circumstance.
*Do something for someone else.
And from Cinderella, these are good things to remember too…
Be kind.
Have courage.
Forgive.
Love you, Lisa!

Great list. Especially “It won’t always feel like this” – that is CRUCIAL to remember during hard times.

It really is. Thanks Mary!

What a beautiful list! I’m thinking of printing it out for our fridge, because these things are so easy to forget, and I’ll add some from Pam’s list as well. I’d also add
Tomorrow is a new day.
Keep an eye open for others who are hurting.
Especially if the hard times are due to someone else’s pain, and you can’t talk about it, helping others allows you to talk about quite a few things without breaking the confidence of the one having the really hard times.
May God bless you in your hard times and give you glimpses of joy and hope in the darkness, more and more as the days and months go by. He can do that, even on the hardest days.
