Do you love to post favorite Bible verses around your house? I love to post them on my bathroom mirror, refrigerator, bulletin board and even tuck them into the pages of my Bible. I love turning in my Bible and finding the special verses that remind me of God’s promises and His goodness.
That’s why each weekend, I’ll be creating and sending out some of my favorite Bible verses for you. These are the verses that I’ve written my name next to in my Bible, prayed in anticipation over our family and written in my journals as promises from God to us. These are the verses that have given me hope. I’m so grateful for the truth and encouragement we can get every single day in God’s word.
Today’s verse is powerful. It’s a verse found at Joshua 23:14. Joshua had been a young man when the Jews left Egypt. He traveled with Moses through the desert for 40 years and after Moses died became a commanding leader as they conquered Israel. Now he was in his final days and the Jews gathered to hear him. Joshua counseled them to trust God, to obey Him and, looking back over all that God had done for these people, reminded them of God’s perfect faithfulness.
You know with all your heart and soul that not one single promise which the LORD your God has given you has ever failed to come true. Every single word has come true. Joshua 23:14
Can you imagine saying that at the end of your life? Well, we will be able to say that. God who was perfectly faithful to the Jews is the very same God with the very same character who is just as perfect in His faithfulness to us. Can you wait to be able to say that?!
You may be waiting for God to meet a deep need right now. You may not know what next week or next year holds but this we can know: Every single promise from God to us will come true.
That is good stuff! Pray this verse in anticipation, thank God in advance for what He is already doing and anchor your soul in this word from God. He is faithful.
